Getting Started
You will need to be at least 17 years of age and hold a valid provisional licence before you can start driving. You will also need to be able to read an old style number plate at 20.5 metres or a new style number plate at 20 metres. You will be asked to do this at the start of your first lesson.
To get your provisional licence you will need to complete a D1 form and send it to the DVLA with your passport or birth certificate and a passport sized photo.
You can pick up a D1 form from your local post office.
Please bring both parts – the paper and your photocard – to your first lesson.
It would be useful to purchase a an up to date copy of the highway code prior to starting driving lessons.
Driving Lessons
Your driving lessons will be done on an individual basis to cater for your individual needs.
A progress record will be completed for you and updated at the end of each lesson. Any issues regarding the highway code relating to the lesson will also be addressed.
Lessons can be booked as often as required ie, more than one lesson a week subject to availability.
Driving Tests
You will need to pass your Theory Test prior to booking your practical test, however, you can start your practical lessons before booking and taking your theory test.
The current cost of taking your theory test is £31 and the practical test is £62.
